PARANOIA will be screened as part of the Temple Bar Film Festival on Fri 9th June 2006 at 8pm in Filmbase

PARANOIA evokes the insular world of a young disturbed woman who has closed herself off from society.

The film features Irish cast of Rachel Rath, Gerry Shanahan, Aisling Bodkin, Brazilian Rodrigo Rodrigues, Swedish Bibbi Larsson and French Soazig Metrope.

Inspired by Bunuel and David Lynch, Colins films are deeply psychological and dream-like. He keeps the stories simple with few characters. Because of his background as an artist, the images are striking.

Jeanne is pregnant and believes that the baby was fathered by an unseen spirit that she calls Kim. Jeanne's mother is terrified that her daughter is going mad. As Jeanne's doctor struggles to diagnose her illness, her obsessive behaviour worsens and Kim's influence starts to become malevolent.

The part was tough because the schizophrenia everything is imagined and that is exactly how we filmed it. It was all filled in later. Rachel Rath

The Portobello Film Festival in a day of celebration of Irish films north and south, PARANOIA was lauded as a beautiful and lyrical film with a brilliant performance by Rachel Rath.
